From humanities to life sciences, we work across all academic disciplines.

Planning

Our first step is to understand your research. We review project applications, documents and data to build up a comprehensive understanding of your methodology and aims. From there we work with project leaders, researchers and impact teams to decide the right combination of style, content and duration for your film. Above all we’re all about realising your impact ambitions, whatever budget you have available.

Filming

Working alongside the project team, we organise all necessary stages of the filming process, from location permissions and travel to coordinating with stakeholders and managing any ethics considerations. When it comes to the shoot, we’re experts at carrying out all different kinds of filming from spectacular drone shots, to capturing events, to getting the best from a contributor interview.

Editing

In the edit, we work together to shape the resulting footage into a compelling and informative final film. We take care of multi-language transcription, voiceover scripting, graphics and subtitling. We source and licence archive and library footage and can work with any media generated by participatory filmmaking.

Distribution

From long-form documentary to social media edits, once the films are delivered we work with departmental teams and impact consultants to help coordinate the distribution of your film through online channels and screenings for maximum exposure. We’re also adept at identifying ways to hive off content for new uses.

Whether part of the initial funding application or brought in at the very end of a project, our approach ensures we create the right film for your research.
